What can a travel portal solution include?
The agreed setup can include branded customer or agent interfaces, selected travel services, pricing controls, accounts, booking records, payment connections and administration tools. CRM, mobile apps, finance integrations and specialised reports are separate scope decisions. Review the modules available in the chosen product or custom proposal.
Do we need a booking portal or just an enquiry website?
An enquiry website may be sufficient if your team sells through consultation and quotations. A transactional portal adds reservation, payment-status and servicing requirements for enabled products. Choose based on what customers or agents must do online and what your team can support after the request or booking.
Can B2B, B2C, distributor and corporate channels share a portal?
These channels can be assessed for a shared backend with role-specific interfaces and controls. Define pricing visibility, account ownership, credit or balance rules, approval flows and reporting boundaries. Confirm the required modules rather than assuming every portal includes every channel.
Is the solution ready-made, white label or custom-built?
The appropriate approach depends on product availability and your requirements. An existing or white-label product may fit supported modules and configuration; different workflows can require custom development. Confirm branding limits, licensing, integrations, data exports and future change options in the proposal.
Are live supplier inventory and API credentials included?
Do not assume they are included with portal software. The selected supplier arrangement determines inventory, products, markets, account permissions and supported actions. API credentials, commercial approvals, deposits and production activation should be confirmed separately from development or configuration.
Does a successful payment mean the booking is confirmed?
Not always. Payment receipt, supplier reservation status and ticket or voucher issuance are separate events. A portal should show accurate status and support a recovery process for pending or unknown outcomes. The responsible team must reconcile the records before retrying a reservation or arranging a refund.
Can users change or cancel bookings and receive refunds online?
Self-service changes or cancellations depend on the supplier, booking conditions, permissions and agreed integration. Some requests need manual assistance. Refund eligibility, approval and settlement follow the applicable provider arrangements; submitting a cancellation request is not the same as receiving a completed refund.
Can we use our brand and domain, and will it work on mobile?
Branding, domain setup and responsive browser journeys can be included according to the chosen portal and scope. Review real search, checkout, account and support screens on smaller devices. Native Android or iOS apps, notifications and app-store delivery are separate requirements, not automatic website inclusions.
Can we keep existing customer records or connect a CRM?
Migration and CRM connections need an assessment of source data, ownership, supported interfaces, field mapping and access permissions. Test representative records and agree which system maintains each status. CRM sales stages, supplier bookings and financial records should not be treated as interchangeable.
What determines portal cost, launch time and ongoing support?
Cost and scheduling depend on the selected product or custom work, channels, modules, integrations, migration and acceptance needs. Supplier approvals and payment onboarding can affect rollout. Agree licence or source-code terms, hosting, training, exports, maintenance and external charges in writing; this page does not imply a fixed price, deadline or support response commitment.
